Relief Society Lesson, Teaching For Our Times: "Go Ye Therefore" by Sylvia Allred, 1st Couns. in RS Presidency
Except a man be born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter unto the kingdom of God. John 3:5
Baptism is essential for our salvation.
Before the resurrected Savior ascended to heaven, he instructed his disciples: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20
It is our responsiblity as members of God's true church to share the gift of salvation with others. By sharing the Gospel we can increase our spirituality in these areas:
--Increased reliance on the Lord
--Seeking the guidance of the spirit
--Overwelming love for God's children
--Increased knowledge of the scriptures and doctrines
--Increased desire to be obedient/keep commandments with exactness
--Strengthened Testimony
Ways we can do missionary work:
--Being a good neighbor/friend
--Set a good example
--Smile genuinely, reflect love, peace, and happiness
--Live a gospel--centered life
--Start being more specific in missionary effort
--Help prepare your children for a mission
--Prepare yours/elf for missionary service
--Invite family and friends to church or to a missionary discussion
--Have people over for dinner, BBQ or FHE
--Invite people to the family history center
--Give referrals to the missionaries and follow up on them
--Share your testimony
--Seek opportunities to reach out/serve others
--Extend your friendships
--Give your best effort/be a good example
--Send letters/pkgs to missionaries
--Don't hide your religion
--Listen to the spirit
The full time missionaries in our ward are putting together a Mission plan for our ward. Please support them in this plan by inviting members to your activities and being more proactive in sharing the gospel. This plan will be implemented with the help your home teachers, who be checking up on you :).
